Recreation of Goya's - Disasters of war
Jake and Dinos Chapman brought out a series of 'rectified' etchings done by a printer/ painter Goya. Some people believe they have vandalise the originals.
Disasters of war - Insult to injury
In my opinion the work has been rejuvenated to appeal to a broader audience. Unlike when Goya first produced these etchings, because they were seen as unpatriotic. The etchings weren't released until three and a half decades after his death. This work will appeal to a a broader audience because of the street art element to the characters that are now the faces of the bodies.
By the Chapman taking these etchings and reworking in to them it has changed the idea of the physical is often more important than the digital and with them using 80 of the originals these can never go back.
